What Guests Are Saying
McCoy's Ferry Campground is praised for its beautiful riverfront location, well-maintained facilities, and peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for camping, fishing, and biking along the C&O Canal towpath. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the portajohns and the spaciousness of the campsites. However, some guests noted noise from passing trains and occasional issues with cleanliness upon arrival, but overall, it remains a favored spot for repeat campers.

Great campground. Very quiet except the trains going by but they were a nice lullaby. Sun rises over the river. Our 20ft campervan fit very nicely on the site. Site was level. Would stay here again.

Love the campsite...it's usually me and my hubby with our grands but sometimes we get a few of our kids. Absolutely a perfect spot.

Great to visit during the fall, specifically end of October when the leaves are changing. We have visited this camp site a number of times and the only reoccurring issue is that other campsites are typically loud way past the silent time with loud music. Otherwise everyone is respectful and every thru-hiker waves! Gorgeous views of the river and changing color of leaves.

Enjoyed the C&O trail nearby for biking. Campsites seemed more spacious than a typical campground.
