Rollways Campground offers beautiful, well-maintained sites that provide a peaceful and private experience, with helpful hosts and clean facilities. Visitors appreciate the scenic location and nearby attractions, including trails and access to the Au Sable River. However, some guests noted noise issues during busier weekends and the lack of picnic tables and easy kayak access.

We arrived at Rollways campground on a Wednesday in July and it was close to empty and that night we noticed how quiet it was. We both expected that as it got closer to the weekend it would get noisier as it filled up but the noise never came. This was the quietest campground I have ever stayed in. The campground host, Faith would pass through the campground twice a day and was helpful with questions about the surrounding area. Bathrooms were clean and supplies in the bathroom were always kept full. My only issue to note is from pictures online I believed there was a place to launch a canoe or kayak at Rollways and when we got there we found out there wasn’t one. All that is there is about 250 stairs down to a dock on the river. Faith did provide us with a map showing where other boat launches were.

First 2 days(Wednesday & Thursday) were great. Nice and peaceful. Friday night the place filled up and were partying all night til 4am. Dogs barking all night. Host did nothing. We left reservation early because it ruined our trip.

There was another group of campers who were extremely rude and causing a lot of noise starting at the quiet time. Thankfully they were asked to leave the next morning and the rest of the stay was much more peaceful. The campsite was clean and well maintained. It also had a fire pit even though i didn’t use it. Water was easy to access and the vault toilet was the best I’ve used here in the state.

The camp host was too attentive. She wanted to regulate everything, from where I parked my motorcycle to what lights were on when parking my vehicle. She was an old woman that did not have a grasp of reality.

Location was great. During the weekend we were able to do the stairs at Lumberman's Monument, and Iargo Springs as well as take trips to Oscoda and Tawas to hang out at the beaches there. The campground host was incredibly nice and helpful.
