My sister and I have camped annually for 19 years at this campground. We love it. Site A5 in the walk camping area was not one of our favorites. 1/2 mile walk in makes you think secluded, quiet, remote. Nope. Neighbors really close by from three sites. We adjusted, embraced the walks, and had a wonderful time but will avoid the A loop in the future. The park does a great job of keeping the park clean, the facilities clean and all the workers and volunteers make the experience friendly and wonderful. We will continue sister camping until we can’t. Love this park so much!!

Loved the large lots that made a you feel like you were a bit more secluded form neighbors. The bathrooms were nice enough and the paved walkways and drive was great. This was a clean, well-maintained campground!

The staff at this campground is awesome! They are always helpful and the bathrooms are kept nice and clean. Thank you all so much for the great job you do! I wish there was a different system in place for reservations though. For those of us who don't live in areas with super fast internet, getting 10 reservation accepted is always a struggle! Most years we wind up having to postpone our vacation in 2 week intervals to try and get the next reservation, even 6 months in advance. Thanks again to all of your staff for the fine and much appreciated job that you all do!

Platte River Campground has become one of our favorite places, and we look forward to coming back every year. The campsites are beautifully wooded, private, and feel tucked away, making it easy to relax and enjoy nature. The campground is incredibly well maintained, and the bathrooms are some of the cleanest we’ve ever seen at any campground.
What really makes this place special is the atmosphere. It’s peaceful, family-friendly, and surrounded by so much natural beauty. Every visit leaves us with wonderful memories, and it’s become a tradition we truly cherish. If you’re looking for a clean, charming campground that’s close to so many amazing outdoor adventures, you won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Numerous clean restrooms, drinking water easy to access, bear boxes in walk in camp only. I loved the walk to Lake Michigan. The sites are really roomy, I can’t wait to go back! I loved the dish washing rooms with hot water also, and the nightly ranger lead talks.
