Platte River is an above average NPS campground. Good location in the trees and good access to points of interest in the Natl Lakeshore. Lots to do in the area or just head to one of the beaches.

We got harassed about using a mini battery chainsaw to cut down dead firewood by a ranger…otherwise we love platt

Beautiful and quiet campground with a short walk to the beach. Our site was tucked away and quiet - we could barely hear our neighbors. Additionally, this site is directly across from the bathrooms (and shower!). Bathrooms were some of the cleanest I have come across. Can't wait to go back and visit again.

Roomy and clean sites. Bathrooms were clean. The only negative was that there was only one dirty shower for our loop.

Well kept campground nestled in the woods. We went 4th of July week and despite all the traffic of many campers it was quiet and enjoyable. The woods were so peaceful and the bathroom/shower areas were kept very clean. We are already planning our next trip to go back!

I wish the disability spots were reserved for people with disability placards since anyone can get them and they do take them because they are nice but some people really need them badly.

Large lots with fire pits and picnic tables. Newly paved roads and back in drive in areas for trailers, etc. a big improvement from 2 years ago.
