Host was nice. Restrooms were clean. Low on TP. Boat tours were great.

AuTrain was a great place to camp while we explored the pictured rock lake shore. Just basic pit toilets. The AuTrain lake was picturesque. I was disappointed to hear generators running in the camp ground. Also the beach at AuTrain lake was unkempt. Not a good place for swimming.

Campsite 34! I was worried. I try to stay away from campsites that back up to roads. I wanted a lake side site, but they were all FCFS. I thought of trying to switch upon arrival and then I saw our site. It's beautiful. The best in the campground. If you love getting a hug by some old growth "grandfather" trees - this is your site! We fit 2 tents, our 5 chairs, a hammock and our truck. Traffic on road behind us was not a main road and very infrequently used. Yes, there are pit toilets - they were totally fine. Just bring a lantern for nighttime.

probably just the time of yer, but the mosquitoes were very prevalent. making everything outside miserable. The lake of water and a dump station really make this a pre-civil war campground. they say you can use bay furnace campground's dump station, but that is 15 miles away and when gas is $4.gal it makes for an expensive trip. And there is no guarantee there won't be 3 5th wheels waiting to get in there. It does not encourage reasponsible dumping of waste water.

We had site 11 moved to site 13 for the view. Site 11 completely filled with rain water! A lot of other sites also had large pools of water. Choose campsite carefully! Host was awesome!

Unfortunately, we spent much time indoors because of the forest fire smoke. We love the quiet and had planned on doing kayaking, but it was just too smoky.

We had pretty miserable time during the week. This had nothing to do with the campground, or how it was managed. We had significant weather events, and smoke from forest fires as well. In the end, I left early as things just kept getting worse. Will I go back? Oh absolutely. These issues are not predictable items. I'm sorry it landed during my camping trip but that is just how it goes.
