Beautiful little lake. Relaxing site with close proximity to Pictured Rocks. Numerous places to rent kayaks, canoes, and even pontoons in the area. Great little store in Au Train with incredible bakers (pasties and cherry turnovers were my weakness). Really beautiful trail through evergreen forest with extensive info on songbirds. Cleanest restrooms l have ever seen. Quiet and lovely.

Swimming area was very small...surrounded by marsh plants, and was less then 3 feet deep. Bathrooms are just vault toilets that always had a line of people waiting to use. No shower facilities.

This is our 2nd year camping at Autrain, it’s our perfect spot. The beach area is amazing we used it everyday sometime twice. Its very quite everyone there is respectful to others. The couple that take care of the grounds do a great job. Will be back🙂

Con: Phone service is nonexistent so navigation was difficult.

Sites a quite large and well away from the main roads and peaceful.
Nature viewing platform and songbird trail are both an excellent experience.
The location is right in the heart of the lake Superior circle tour between Munising and Marquette.
Kayak the Autrain river or swim in beautiful sandy beach Lake Superior.
