Like many national forrest campgrounds the sites are generous and well spaced. Many sites are on the water. My only disappointment is the lack of enforcing dogs being leashed and people cleaning up after their pets, especially at the swimming beach area.

Beautiful spot off the beaten path. It's a rustic campsite but the bathroom are a well maintained as any I've seen at any campsite. Close to town and multiple attractions. I'll be back for sure.

Great campsite, with privacy between sites, very quiet lake. Will bring fishing boat back next time.

Great campground, large quiet sites, lots of birds. We had the site next to the boat launch and could launch our canoe from our site! Loved hiking the Songbird Trail. Would recommend!

Au Train campground is another treasure in the Hiawatha National Forest..Along the shoreline of Lake Au Train and nestled in the wooded surrounding forest nature provides a wonderful camping experience. This was my second visit and I would definitely come back again. Adding to a great experience I would like to comment on the effort extended by the campsite host who pave the way for a memorable visit. I plan to return again in August to continue my discovery of all that the wonderful U.P. has to offer.
THANKS FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!

Very quiet, lovely area. We enjoyed our time here and will most likely be going back next summer. Well maintained and clean.

site was clean and well kept as were the toilets. The campground was very quiet after sunset as well. We will definitely be coming back.

The camp hosts were louder than most campers screaming at people....the lake was really good fishing and had a great time fishing....maybe if I had a different site I would of have a higher score....
