This is a hidden gem close to so much in the beautiful UP/Hiawatha National Forest. Level and large sites, a viewing platform and 2-mile nature trail right in the campground, and clean/updated vault toilets (!) we were in site 5 which was a nice, quiet area for tenting. The spots on the lake looked awesome, too!

Nice campground kept very clean, boat access to camp sites could be better but we did have a very good time exploring the area. Would consider maybe going back again sometime.

We had to drive 20 min away/ 20 min back for water because there wasn’t potable water available at the campground. We were not planning on this

The mosquitoes were extremely bad. Paid for 7 nights, only stayed 3 nights. I go camping to enjoy the outdoors, but couldn't. Additionally, while being stuck inside my RV, I had no cell service with AT&T, no internet. A bad time.

Au Train is a typical National Forest campground - well spaced sites, lots of trees, water and outdoor toilets. It was fine, but not outstanding.

We loved the spacious sites, the shade, the Songbird Trail, and proximity to great sightseeing. Our camp host was excellent! She checked on us as soon as we arrived and brought us firewood within minutes. The bathrooms were the cleanest pit toilets I’ve seen! Site 007 was large but it would have been challenging to level a larger camper. It worked fine for our 17 ft. trailer. I would highly recommend Au Train Lake Campground for the peace and pretty surroundings.

Generally quiet area to camp. Most campsites were tree covered, which made solar power use limited. Otherwise, good location to easily access activities in Munising.
