Au Train Lake Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with spacious, private campsites surrounded by nature. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful hosts, along with clean restrooms and enjoyable boat tours. While some faced issues with mosquitoes and the availability of potable water, many found the campground to be a relaxing and memorable experience with access to nearby outdoor activities.

Good, quiet campground. Away from the noise of any main roads, etc. Little to no cell service (at least for t-mobile network) in/ around the campground. Vault toilets were well maintained.

Campground host was wonderful and friendly. Enjoyed the 2 mi songbird trail loop off of campground. Very nice vault toilets that were clean. Conviennent camp location for exploring Pictured Rocks during the day.

Beautiful camp sites spaced far apart. Quiet. Host was friendly and greeted us upon our arrival. Nice birding trail starting from camp ground. Vault toilets were fine.

AuTrain was a great place to camp while we explored the pictured rock lake shore. Just basic pit toilets. The AuTrain lake was picturesque. I was disappointed to hear generators running in the camp ground. Also the beach at AuTrain lake was unkempt. Not a good place for swimming.

Campsite 34! I was worried. I try to stay away from campsites that back up to roads. I wanted a lake side site, but they were all FCFS. I thought of trying to switch upon arrival and then I saw our site. It's beautiful. The best in the campground. If you love getting a hug by some old growth "grandfather" trees - this is your site! We fit 2 tents, our 5 chairs, a hammock and our truck. Traffic on road behind us was not a main road and very infrequently used. Yes, there are pit toilets - they were totally fine. Just bring a lantern for nighttime.

probably just the time of yer, but the mosquitoes were very prevalent. making everything outside miserable. The lake of water and a dump station really make this a pre-civil war campground. they say you can use bay furnace campground's dump station, but that is 15 mi away and when gas is $4.gal it makes for an expensive trip. And there is no guarantee there won't be 3 5th wheels waiting to get in there. It does not encourage reasponsible dumping of waste water.
