What Guests Are Saying
Bay Furnace Campground offers a beautiful, quiet setting with large, private sites and well-maintained facilities, making it an excellent base for exploring the Munising and Pictured Rocks area. Visitors appreciate the clean bathrooms and friendly hosts, along with easy access to Lake Superior's sandy beach and the historic Bay Furnace site. While some noted issues with road conditions and occasional noise, many expressed a desire to return due to the campground's overall appeal and recreational opportunities.

Excellent campground, recently paved. Bathrooms clean. Quiet even close to M28 as it is. Convenient location, close to Casino in Christmas and to the city of Munising. A great location to use as a base camp. It could have better lake access by site 8. Hard to get to the lake with my mobility scooter. Overall a very nice campground that we will be returning to.

Great little rustic campground with beach access, close to all of the things you want to do in the AuTrain/Christmas/Munising area. Decent sized sites, clean vault toilets, and a great overall feel. Recommended.

ROADS HAVE BEEN PAVED!
Beautiful campground with access to the lake. Only 4 sites have a view of the lake and only 3 are on the lake (one of them is a host site). You have easy access at the historic furnace site with lots of beach, picnic tables and parking. Some sites have lots of sun, some are completely in the shade. We were in site 23 which had mostly sun all day which was great for solar and Starlink. All the sites looked level or close to level. Water available at hose attachable faucets around the campground and at the dump station.

Excellent location. Spot #10 is the best in the campground, right on the lake with a beautiful view & shady. Very clean vault toilets were a pleasant surprise.

Nicely spaced clean sites. Nice loops for walking. Enjoyed the interpretive trail. Beaches were nice and water “very chill” roads were in beautiful shape.

Clean and quiet campsite. Road to campground is a little rough, you need to go slow. Site was very big and close to the shore. Would stay again if in the area.

The campground is clean and quiet. Most sites are spacious and not crowded together. The bathrooms were always clean. The only downside is the road in is in horrible shape. Huge potholes that are almost impossible to go around.
