Hurricane River Campground is praised for its beautiful location near Lake Superior, with clean facilities and well-maintained sites that offer privacy. Campers enjoy the easy access to hiking trails, pristine beaches, and the soothing sound of waves. However, many reviews mention issues with mosquitoes and the need for better campground management, including the presence of hosts and clearer information. Overall, it’s seen as a lovely spot, especially for hikers and nature lovers.

Excellent park, the vault toilets were clean, no complaints! The sites are spacious and well maintained. Pictured Rocks Cruise was worth it, the afternoon cruise offers the best light for pictures from the boat. The hiking trails are great and the views are spectacular! Will definitely return!!

We had a great stay at the campgrounds. Everything was well maintained and the bathrooms clean. The campground is within walking distance of the Au Sable Lighthouse.

We love the pictured rocks national lakeshore. It is one of the most beautiful places in Michigan. The Hurricane River campground is right on Lake Superior and provides a centralized dot to explore the entire park

Upper loop #1 site was great! Nice semi-secluded spot with plenty of trees for hammocks and shade.
