We stayed at site 3 toward the end of September. Wonderful little campsite that backs up to Little Beaver Lake! The 3 mi long dirt road to get into the site is mostly well-taken care of but there are definitely some rough spots. No cell phone service (Verizon, at least). The bathrooms were not in the best condition, even for vault style. It POURED our first night and the entire area around the picnic table and fire ring flooded but the tent pad appeared to stay above water. Didn't experience too many insect but that's probably because of the time of year.
Very quiet and remote feeling. The only downside we had was that we wished we had stayed somewhere that required less driving just to get in an out of the site. That being said, there is a trailhead at the campsite that will get you to twelve mile beach and other trail systems (including Mosquito/Chapel Falls/Beach). Dogs are NOT ALLOWED on these trails, thus our need to drive in an out of the park. Dog ARE ALLOWED at the campsite. We have a crossover SUV and were towing a 16 ft pop-up camper and it was a little tight trying to back in (but we are also novice trailer campers).
There is a restaurant called The Bear Trap a little over 20 minutes from the campgrounds where H-15 and H-58 intersect. Very friendly and good food. They appear to be open for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
