What Guests Are Saying
The Mckeever Cabin offers a clean, cozy, and beautifully secluded environment ideal for relaxation, with a well-stocked wood supply and comfortable amenities. Guests appreciated the peaceful surroundings, scenic trails, and the opportunity to disconnect from technology. However, some noted the inconvenience of a lengthy walk from the parking area to the cabin, which could be challenging with heavy gear.

The cabin was perfect and left in perfect condition by the previous renters… Hope we did the same! The reservation system and combination entry code word worked perfectly. The only suggestion is to make the directions from the parking area to the cabin a bit clearer for us first timers.

We had a great stay once we got there. We had not been before and were snowshoeing in with packs and a sled. We were using the pin on Google maps and ended up hiking twice as far as we needed to. (don't rely on Google maps to get there even though you'll have service!) We thought we had plenty of daylight to get to the cabin but ended up not getting there until dusk. A 'cabin' sign marking the direction from the warm season parking area would be helpful. That said, we had a GREAT stay. It was beautiful and private. The cabin warmed up pretty quickly once we got the stove going and stayed warm during our stay. Appreciate all the work done to stock the place with wood. Thank you for providing these rustic places to get away with our dog and just decompress in nature. They are so valuable!

Wonderful winter retreat. The trail in was in excellent condition so pulling our sleds was no problem at all. There was plenty of firewood so the cabin was cozy and warm.

I hauled 3 bundles of firewood, just to discover there is a stocked wood shed. Lol.

During the winter its about a mile long un groomed ski or snowshoe in and out. (If your not familiar with the area: Directions from the allocated parking lot are not clear, no map, just 2 small signs- one at the highway, one further in that point to "cabin")
We had a enjoyable weekend there. Glad to have a place we could ski/stay with our dog. Of course we were there during the coldest weekend ever -18 to 10 degrees during our trip...it was a cold trip to the outhouse! Thankfully we stayed cozy inside with the woodstove (there was plenty of wood), enjoyed the wild birds, went on all 3 ski trails and skied out on McKeever Lake.
