The site was absolutely perfect, and the campground was so lovely and peaceful. Our site was just a short walk to the lake, and it was very nicely located! We had good distance between our neighbors, but the bathrooms/water was not far! However, the water pumps were out of order for the second half of our stay, which was definitely inconvenient. But besides that, it was a wonderful stay and definitely worth it!

New hosts were very nice. Bathrooms very clean. We love Widewaters Campground! We were disappointed to find out it’s closing so soon this year. Fall is our favorite time to camp ☹️

No water available at campground. Water was also not available at neighboring campgrounds. No options were given to get water. Camp host was not helpful or was gone most of the days. ATV/UTV rules were not enforced. Outhouses were clean to the eye but were very pungent in smell even with cooler weather.

No running water at the 1 pump at the campground. And no signage saying which other campsites had running water, ended up driving to the Pete's Lake Campground 3 miles away about once a day to get water. Wish there was some heads-up from Rec.gov, the campsite, or something before we got there as I would have changed my reservation to another site. As for the campsite, clean, clean bathrooms, quiet, not very busy.

This was a great backwoods campground. We were at spot 12 not too far from toilets. There are quite a few hole toilets throughout. You can see your neighbors but there are woods inbetween so it isn’t bad at all. The campsite has a picnic table and a fire pit with a grill top & a hook to hang garbage.
The facilities includes:
A camp host
Drinking water area around site 9 & 10
Many bathrooms throughout
1 dumpster
Firewood in town & from the camp host are both $9 a bundle.
There is a Circle K 12 mins north on H13. The campground has no service. There is a little pond that was nice. Overall it was a great spot to be out in the woods but close to things. 22 mins from pictured rocks, 42 from the big spring.
The second night we did have a bear come on the campsite, walking around, sniffing then walking away. We had our food in the car so we had no issues.
Either way, I’d definitely stay here again it was a really good experience!
