We camp at Pete's lake several times per year and we love it! The campground is always clean and so is the beach area. The water is crystal clear and warm, it's perfect for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding.
All of the sites we've stayed in are spacious and private. There aren't any sites with any hookups, but we bring our generator and fill up the water before going there. It would be nice if there was a dump station to empty at, but overall, it's one of our favorites.

Site was spacious and surrounded by beautiful trees. Beach was a short walk and lake was nice loved the views of Pete's lake from the peer. Matt and Amy the camp host who checked us in were friendly and very knowledgeable about the campground and things to do in the area. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves camping, hiking and waterfalls.

Love the camp sites and in the the past things have been great. This time water spigots weren't working so had to go to the day use area. Quite hours weren't observed as partying went on until 3 am and a generator was being used all night.

Very Spacious and Quiet. WE didn't end up having a fire but if we did there was a bunch of trash in the pit. It seems they do not check between people to see how the camp was left.

Love camping here! It’s close to Munising for pictured rocks. There’s a bunch of lakes in the area for fishing. A couple things I would comment on is that the water pump in the camp ground wasn’t working so we had to go to the fishing dock to fill our water. The women’s bathroom by the camp host was amazingly clean and good smelling but the door would lock and had problems getting in/out. It only happened twice when we were there for a week. The fishing dock is great to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and of course fishing but there are a couple boards that need fixing so if you use an assisted device to get around it might be a little challenging. Again we love camping here just needs a tiny bit of TLC.

Not busy, even for a long weekend (Juneteenth). Felt there was enough distance between camps and easy bathroom access. I think the water source was not functional. Plenty of mosquitos, so bug spray was a must, but the swarms near the boat launch on the lake were too much to want to stand by the lake. Easy drives to Munising, Painted Rocks, and we visited nearby Kitch-iti-kipi as well.

I've stayed at Plum Lake 2 years now when coming to the Sayner area for the Insayner mountain bike race. The campground is on a beautiful chunk of land and it well run.

Unfourtunately the bugs were extreme. But I wanted to say our camp hosts were great. The bathrooms very clean. The fishing dock was a high point of the camping expereince as the breeze on the dock kept the bugs away. I was able to do my stretches and meditate there. We also enjoyed riding out bikes which as long as we kept pedaling the bugs could not find us.

From Munising, Michigan, go approximately 3 miles east on State Route 28 to Highway 13 at Wetmore. Travel south on Highway 13 about 10 miles to Forest Service Road 2173. Turn left and drive about a half-mile to the road to Petes Lake Campground.
Pete's Lake Campground is accessible via State Route 28, approximately 3 miles west of Highway 13, which provides further access to the area.

- Guests are not allowed to switch sites upon arrival.
- Reserved sites are held until noon the day after arrival; if not occupied by then, the reservation is forfeited.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Safety & rules
- Swim at the beach at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on duty.
Vehicles & parking
- Off-road vehicles are not allowed in the campground.
- Each site allows one RV with a tow vehicle or one vehicle per tent site, with an extra vehicle allowed for $8 per night.
Fires & fuel
- Only use dead and downed firewood for campfires.
Pets
- A maximum of two pets are allowed per site.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation modifications are not allowed once your reservation has started.
- Refund requests incur a $10 processing fee and the non-refundable reservation fee will not be returned.
Wildlife & food storage
- Do not move firewood from outside the area to prevent the spread of pests; obtain firewood locally.
