What Guests Are Saying
Twelvemile Beach Campground and Cabin is praised for its stunning scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a favorite among visitors. Clean bathrooms, beautiful sunsets, and easy access to the beach enhance the overall experience. While some noted challenges like biting flies and limited water access for campers, these did not overshadow the campground's charm and potential for a peaceful getaway.

You really cannot beat the location of the cabin. It's in an absolutely beautiful setting.
A few things to note though, be sure to bring a way to secure your food and trash inside the cabin. We had a mouse problem inside the cabin during the one night we stayed, it caused us to pack up a day early because of the mice scurrying around at night trying to get our food and climbing into our bags. We hung up our bag of trash and I could see the mice jumping and trying to bite the bag in the middle of the night.
Our family stayed with our four elementary aged kids, and they really enjoyed the bunkbeds and staying on the trail (which is a very short walk from the parking area). The cabin was the envy of all the day-hikers and a great conversation starter. And the new deck that was constructed really made it relaxing to enjoy the beautiful view.

Great campsite within about 100 ft of the lake. I’d note proximity to the bathroom, as I thought that could be a good thing if needing to get up at night or early, however the wind happened to be blowing from it directly in our direction. Not a great outdoor experience if you’ve got a tent! In general, the campsites are slightly closer together, which is generally the way things are at sites in the park there (I camped once at Hurricane River also, similar experience). Note that the sites which are directly on the lake have a view, this one does not, but it’s also sheltered if you happen to have a storm or windy day - and the lake can get pretty windy and turbulent.

While the center is not large, it’s conveniently situated at the trailhead for Munising Falls, a short, easy hike along a paved path to the waterfall’s main viewing platform. The falls themselves are about 50 feet high and accessible year-round, with stunning ice formations in the winter months. For those seeking a bit more adventure, additional viewpoints are accessible via stairs
