This campsite would’ve been amazing if it weren’t for the mosquitoes. They were so bad that they would constantly be swarming us and our dogs even with long sleeves/pants and ample bug spray. We only stayed one night and then got out of there and decided to skip our second night. Probably great during shoulder season when there’s likely less mosquitoes! Definitely need an suv or a car that sits a little higher to get there through the uneven dirt roads.

Amazing private campsite on a beautiful lake. Northern Lights were unreal above us and over the lake on 10/10/24.

Wow! This was an incredible find!!! We basically had a private lake to ourselves the whole time. It was insanely beautiful and exactly what what we were looking for. Easy to drive to with our Subaru, but if your car rides super low might not be the best. Picnic table was right next to the firepit. Very well kept up. Has space for one or two smaller tents, but then you have the entire forest and lake almost to yourself. I almost never repeat a campsite... but this site I might have to make an exception for. It was so beautiful and private. We had someone come by and fish in the morning, but it is a public land so that was expected. 1 visitor in 24 hours, isn't bad!

TDhe lake was shallower then I was figuring on. And it took a day to find where the fish were. Site was clean, and had a small boat ramp that was useful.

Beautiful little lake, mostly shallow and only caught some small fry. Quiet and peaceful. No picnic table, makes cooking more difficult. Reminder, no outhouse so I have a shovel. Also I can confirm that many people do intrude on the site looking for the “boat launch“, it can be annoying if they are drunk. Better signage needed although I believe some were just nosey or looking for a free site to squat on. I probably won’t rent it again due to this one factor. I’m not looking for company or to party, I want peaceful alone time. Otherwise great and enjoyed it.

Our time at Bass Lake was overall pretty good. There were 2 things that were extremely irritating, so much so that we likely won't go back to that site - writing this in hopes that maybe it will prompt change? Perhaps. Bass Lake had hardly any fish - or at least none that we could find. We fished it for 3 days! Not even a bite. This was much different then other lakes in the area, and also much different then the description of the lake read. The next negative - the lack of signage made our campsite very "busy" with visitors. We had 4 trucks with boats come down the turn around - causing us at times to have to move our stuff so they could turn around. It was a constant parade of people some as late as 9pm!- we tried moving a large stump across the road to our driveway, and people got out to move it, or drove over it. I think there needs to be a gate that a camper could close to let others know....there are people down here camping/sleeping/etc...
