The site itself was really nice. View of the lake was beautiful. Unfortunately someone had taken a dump on the ground and left their mess for everyone else to enjoy. Log trucks have torn up the road in, high clearance vehicle and camper are a must.

Big pine tree in the middle of the site makes it harder to get camper in the most level spot and maneuver it around to pull out. Gravel hurts the feet and it's also uncomfortable for the dog.

Secluded, off the road, quiet if your neighbors are, we had one neighbor, caught a 2lb bass first night. There's a muskrat in the neighborhood so you'll hear that at night. Lots of deer around. Beautiful place to stay! Plenty of tree cover and beach access.

The campers who camped prior to us left garbage, with rotting food and unspent fireworks. There were multiple large fish hooks around the fire pit. I raked the entire camping area and found numerous large pieces of broken glass, and more fish hooks.
Once we clean the area, we enjoyed camping at Chicago Lake, as we always do. It is a beautiful campsite. Too bad there are so many inconsiderate Campers.
