Campsite and lake were excellent. Access into site was a bit dicy. Uneven and narrow but if your good at backing a trailer can be done. Only negative on trip was group of rude Side-by-side ATV riders. Drove in to boat launch and cranked music, yelled, screamed, and generally showed no courtesy whatsoever.

The campsite is very nice, private and beautiful location. The only difficult part is finding it since google maps does not take you directly to the location, make sure you read the reservation document that tells you exactly which forest road (FR) and which sub road like J, I, K is it located on. We had an amazing time, hope you do too.

So, to start off this isn’t a camp site for those wanting luxury. That is unless the woods, lake, nature, beautiful sunsets and a disconnect from the real world is your jam. There’s very little service at Clear Lake. However we were ok with it and occupied ourselves kayaking, fishing, hiking, camp cooking, swimming and just enjoying our family time. We brought our three kids with us under the age of 9. The swimming area is lovely. They swam most of the time we camped. There is no toilet so we packed our portable and “roughed it “. The only complaint I have is the amount of cars coming in and out to use the boat launch. Maybe it’s common with it being good fishing? I feel like most small lakes in this area have the car traffic. But over all I enjoyed the site. Hornets were a problem for a few days but we set up a hornet trap and that helped. Camp area was clean. And did a good rake and clean after for the next family. Hope this provides some insight!! Ps. Bring your camera.. the sunset is seriously just the best here.

Beautiful lake! We hit the absolutely perfect window of time, weather was perfect and bugs were non existent. Other than a few boaters, we were on our own for close to a week. The only downside is all the human "waste" everywhere. Walk away from the campsite more than a few feet and you will be met with toilet paper everywhere. I would prefer this go to a fee site and have a vault toilet installed for boaters and campers.

Had issues with locals infringing on our campsite. We were afraid for our lives. No cell service so we were essentially trapped in the situation. Didn't see a Ranger during the whole stay.
