We reserved a spot weeks ago but discovered on arrival that the neighbor camper planned to run a generator constantly. Fortunately the camp hosts allowed us to choose a different spot - the nearest neighbor also had a generator but they were at least more considerate about using it (and it was a lower decibel one). We had the last spot on the lane (#32 I believe) and the road noise was considerable. Thankfully, there was limited overnight traffic. Seems like peace and quiet aren’t a lot of campers’ ideals at campgrounds, or my expectations are unrealistic. On the plus side, sites were large and fairly private, and the location was good if planning to visit Lakes Michigan and Superior in the same trip. Pretty lake but didn’t fish it.

The campgrounds were wonderful. Privacy between sites was just right and we found the trail around the lake wonderfully maintained and peaceful. It was a great experience.

All the camp sites are exceptionally big. The sites are private due to many trees and vegetation between the sites. Hiking trail around the lake is enjoyable. The road going to the sites is paved. Camp hosts are very friendly.

We always enjoy camping at Colwell Lake. The hosts are always friendly and go out of their way to welcome the campers. It's a shame the road going into the camp ground has not been fixed all summer. The potholes are horrible and dangerous if you want to walk or ride a bike on that road!!!

Campground hosts are doing an excellent job of keeping the campsites and bathrooms clean. Large camping sites.

Our site was large and clean with a great view of the lake. We love this campground because it is small and remote. Campground host Gerry and Carol are wonderful and so accommodating. It was good to see them back this year. They recommended a general store/eatery called the Midway. The fresh fried superior whitefish was amazing!

nice private camp sites, quiet setting, beautiful lake. Make time to walk or ride your bike around the 2 mile path that circles the lake. Camp hosts were absolutely wonderful and super helpful. We'll definitely return next year!

The campground itself was very clean. But the driveway coming into the campground was very poor. Lots of potholes very dangerous for our truck
