Love staying here. Especially appreciate the large lake front sites. The bathrooms were always clean. The entire property was kept in superb condition. Only advise I have is to have a soap dispenser in the bathroom that those in wheelchairs or children can reach. The only one is up quite high.

Great beautiful and peaceful campsites spread out with plenty of trees and foliage in between each site which gave our campsite a much more secluded private feeling. Tons of cool mushrooms all around the campsite. The lake there was also nice to swim in and at the picnic area I went out about 300+meters into the water with my fishing pole and my shoulders were still above the water. This was my completely zen part of our stay there. There are little pink leeches that will attach to your feet in the water but they can be pulled off easily with no pain. It did rain a lot and was always overcast which was very disappointing because the whole reason we picked this campground was because it had very little light pollution and I wanted to spend time using my telescope to observe the night sky there and also watch the Perseids meteor shower--however, we didn't see a single star the entire time we were there. The lower peninsula right across from the upper peninsula would be sunny and 15 degrees warmer even when the UP side was completely overcast and cooler. The campground is also only like a 20min drive from the Garlyn Zoo which was by far the best zoo I've ever been to because of the uniqueness and intimate layout of the zoo. The animals also seemed very happy and well cared for. I recommend people of all ages make sure to visit this zoo if you stay at the Brevoort campground--you will not be disappointed. The campground was also very easy to find and get to from the Mackinac bridge because you basically take the main lakeshore highway almost the entire way there. There's a grocery store about 30min away in St. Ignace and there's multiple pasty shops and smoked fish/meat stores along this main road nearby the campground. Also along this same road fairly close to the campground is a long stretch of sandy beach on lake Michigan and plenty of room on the shoulder to park and walk about 20ft over the small ridge of sand and easily chillout and swim in lake Michigan.
