The campground was absolutely beautiful and quiet, the campsites have a pleasant amount of distance from each-other (unlike most state campgrounds that have sites one next to another). Monocle lake was an absolute spectacle to have in the campground, I recommend going stargazing on the lake-shore as most of the campground is very wooded and the canopy does not allow for much of the sky view from the campsites and for sunlight during the day.
It is nicely situated near a lighthouse and Lake Superior (access can be difficult as much of the shoreline is private property, but there are public roads that do lead to the shore, just be careful to not trespass). Tahquamenon Falls is an easy 45 minute drive away from the campground, on the way there are a couple towns (Paradise is a good one) you can stop at to refuel and resupply.
Pet friendly!

Only complaint was that it was nice to have a water spout to get water from, but the water was very distasteful, tasted like the smell of oil/gasoline.

Beautiful lake, Very clean campground, sadly very generator loaded, and they’re cranking all day and half the night.

From Bay Mills, travel west on County Road 42 (Whitefish Bay Scenic Byway) for approximately half a mile, then turn south on Forest Road 3699 to the campground entrance.
Monocle Lake Campground is accessible via County Road 42 (Whitefish Bay Scenic Byway), which connects to M-129 approximately 10 miles to the east.
