What Guests Are Saying
Pfeiffer Lake campground has seen significant improvements, making it a beautiful and peaceful place to camp, with many sites offering lovely lake views. While some guests experienced disturbances from other campers and noted the need for better-maintained hiking trails, the facilities, including clean restrooms and helpful staff, were generally praised. Some campers expressed disappointment over the absence of beach amenities and marked water sources, but overall, it remains a favored spot for nature lovers and families.

Clean, fun, nice campground. not sure what happened to the dumpster, however. Host site was set up, but a host was never present. other campers were good. Swimming was good and fishing was great!

We reserved our site in the spring and when we got there it was full. The host had forgot to put up the reserved sign. We drove 2 hours there and back for nothing.

28 foot by 12 inch round tree was on our tent pad site when we arrived. This was site 12 which I reserved 1 month in advanced. 1/3 of our site was non usable. The park ranger drove by slow and kept going and the campground host looked at the tree and said you have a tree down. All the campground said after this was you need to fill out a tag. This is the first time at a Federal campground I had to fill out my own tag. Always in the past at all other Federal campgrounds the tag was on the post already and said reserved. We left that next morning. Ended up setting the tent on a hill. This dead Birch tree could have come down on our tent.

This is very nice and fun for people who want to feel a more rustic camping. The campsites are large enough for those who use campers and it seems more camping places are dropping lawn space for tents, this lake still has sites that offer great tent space for the more adventurous types. There is fresh water to be had and the bathrooms are permanent "outhouses". The water is lovely and clear if you want a nice swimming lake for the family. The lake itself is small and best for the smaller boats. Water sporting is done on the lake, though not as often due to the space of it.
You will hear loons in the morning and evenings, may even see an eagle or two and some deer. There is a hiking trail around the lake.
I really like this place it can be peaceful and there are times it can be a little lively. It has never been outrageous or crazy.
This is the place for a more "disconnected" experience. the only power you will have is via vehicle or generator.
