Trout Lake Campground

Gorgeous lake, great campground, easy swimming area, kind owners. Firewood is more for recreational bonfires but is difficult to cook with if that’s your cooking source (not extremely dry, not much solid hard wood). If I was in a full blown camper I wouldn’t have anything to complain about.

Absolutely fabulous experience at Trout Lake. Stayed in one of their campers that are available for rent. Matt, Jill, & Carlee were wonderful hosts. Helped our son-in-law try to achieve his goal of catching a Northern. He unfortunately didn't on this trip, but even more reason for us to return!

I have to say what a great campground! Matt treats all the guests as they were part of his family. Dog friendly, very clean And a great beach! Best campground in Itasca county if not the whole state! Love this place!

I prefer tent camping. Most campgrounds you wake up and feel like all other campers are watching your every action. Trout lake campground you have the feeling of being completely alone at a lake but with the amenities of bathroom, shower, lodge, whatever you need. The owners are great people that are really helpful if you need anything and you get the sense that when you are at the campground they care about you as if you are an extension of their own family. I love coming here whenever I just need a fast camping trip on my days off work and dont feel like hiking and gathering my own firewood. Highly recommend this campground for a great family getaway or just a solo escape from the craziness of the world.

We had an amazing stay at this campground! The sites were clean, spacious, and right on Trout Lake — perfect for kayaking, fishing, and just relaxing by the water. The staff were extremely kind, and the quiet atmosphere made it a great escape. We’ll definitely be coming back!
