What Guests Are Saying
Mosomo Point is a fantastic campground with large, private sites and excellent water access, making it ideal for canoeing. Campground hosts are friendly and maintain cleanliness effectively, particularly in the bathrooms. While there are some minor issues like noisy generators and the need to bring firewood, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Camp ground hosts were very friendly and kept the outhouses clean and stocked with toilet paper. We had a site near the water and a large boat was using the beach area and the people were sleeping on their boat and using the bathrooms. I don’t know if they paid for a site or not. They were pulled up 25-30 feet from our tent which greatly reduced our privacy, they routinely played their music plenty loud that we could easily hear it in our tent and sitting by a fire. The beach area isn’t a camp site and they should have been asked to leave.
Very disappointed that the campground doesn’t sell wood any longer, that was a very nice amenity, now we need to estimate or need, buy elsewhere and haul it in instead of getting it as you need it from the hosts.

No wood for sale at the campground was a major factor in dissatisfaction. Also, no campground hosts were on site which meant facilities were not maintained — the previous hosts ( Terry and Brenda) were so good and I question why they were not retained.

Well maintained campground. Sites recently mowed. Restrooms very clean with ample supplies. Hosts extremely helpful going above & beyond to make campers happy.

My husband and I camp for weeks and weeks at Mosomo Point campground every summer. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. The campground hosts, the Felixes are great people, very attentive and helpful to your needs. Sadly enough the Forestry did not offer firewood to buy so the host found a vendor and was buying wood for campers. The hosts were fired for providing so wonderfully for the campers. This is so wrong! The campers were very fond of these hosts and they went above and beyond to provide for the campers. Then they were fired for doing so. Very unfair. Very sad. Very negative reflection on the Forestry. I will not camp there any longer.

I had picked a spot #5 that was ok, but then #12 was closer to family and a better spot. The camp hosts where very accommodating and allowed us to move spots since no one was in that spot. It was a very nice, fun experience.

I have stayed at this campground for years and was extremely disappointed to find out that firewood is no longer available through the campground hosts like it has been....forever.
A good chunk of the camping experience is sitting around a campfire cooking brats/dogs over the fire or making smores with the family so needing to go elsewhere for wood was very discouraging.
The USFS needs to figure this out and reinstate a means for campers to buy wood at the campground.

With no power available most of the campers were running generators well into the night past quiet hours. Actually had to ask the neighbor if they would shut theirs off as it was keeping us from being able to sleep. If you want to hear the loons and wildlife find a campground with power as everyone seems to need electricity these days.
