About Trails End Campground

Trail's End Campground is located next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in a remote area of Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota. It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy life, or get out on the water to canoe and fish. Berry picking and wildlife viewing are also great fun.

What Guests Are Saying

Trails End Campground offers a stunning and serene location with beautiful views of the river and easy access to canoeing and hiking in the BWCA. Many campers appreciate the well-maintained sites, peaceful ambiance, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite for relaxation and exploration. However, some concerns were noted regarding the cleanliness of the outhouses and the lack of on-site assistance for purchasing necessities, along with issues related to noise from nearby campers.

Beautiful spot and well worth a walk/scramble down to the water for sunrise or sunset ... just make sure you get a site with a view of the water if you can. Otherwise this is just like any other midwestern campground.

We were a little disappointed there wasn't a better view of the lake from this site. It's still delightful amongst the pines. Privacy was good due to the positioning of campers away from each other. We had a camper and two tents and there was plenty of room. There is a trail down to the lake but it's not an easy climb. This site had close (but not too close) proximity to the outhouse. There is not a bad site at the Trails End Campground!
We kayaked Saganaga, stopped at rock islands for lunches, fished the inlets. The store just outside theDinner one night at Trail's Center Lodge (always a treat.) Wilderness Way outfitters is at the entrance to the park, and they have a small cafe, shower house, and store. They also offer everything you need to get out in the BWCA and explore.

This campground is beautiful! It has access to two Boundary Waters entry points. The business close by (Way of the Wilderness/Trail's End Cafe) has friendly service, information, great burgers, maps and rental gear!

Just about one of my favorite places to visit on this planet. The campground is clean, well kept and quiet. The sites are well thought out and spaced apart well. The outhouses are clean, the people who work for the campground are friendly. Just a lovely place to park yourself to get out and enjoy all that the area has to offer.

Excellent, beautiful campground with many beautiful and private sites. If you have more than one vehicle, you need to pay for it - there is no parking lot or area to leave your car away from your site.
