What Guests Are Saying
Trails End Campground offers a stunning and serene location with beautiful views of the river and easy access to canoeing and hiking in the BWCA. Many campers appreciate the well-maintained sites, peaceful ambiance, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite for relaxation and exploration. However, some concerns were noted regarding the cleanliness of the outhouses and the lack of on-site assistance for purchasing necessities, along with issues related to noise from nearby campers.

Clean Campground. We felt safe. Needed a tent pad, as we had to put out tent up on the gravel driveway.

The campground is well maintained, vault toilets are excellent.
Suggestion: when campsites are NOT reserved for the night/nights, allow the host to register a camper as first come-first serve; with the host notifying you via phone. There is very, very, very [read it as NONE] phone, internet and wi-fi service in our national parks and forests for the camper to register on-line. Keep the parks and forests without phone, wifi and internet. We need a place of rest from the noise of our world. thank you

Bud Darling has done an excellent job since I starting coming in 1972. Trails End is managed perfectly by him and his son. Our group since 1972 has returned, now with our grandkids because of his straight forward excellent management.

The place is spectacularly beautiful and the sites nicely separated for privacy.

We found Tails End Campground to be very clean and very quiet, with great views of the water and wonderful water access. We had one of the few sites without a view of the water but we didn't mind the campsite view while we were out on the water all day. I look forward to a return visit.

Campground was nice. We stayed at site 16, and the other couple in our party stay at site 17. Nice views, some fish caught right from the rocks. Leeches and night-crawlers were what we were mostly catching them on. Way of the wilderness rented us a boat, which went fine, get 2 oars, we wish we did. unforeseen motor troubles (out motor). They had nothing else they advertised though, (no food, bait, pop, showers, tackle, cooked meals). nothing, which wasn't an issue for us, we were plenty prepared, but there was nothing on their website about not having anything. Of course it was all covid-19's fault. Way of the Wilderness looked really run down compared to the last time we were there. I don't know if its lack of capital or what, but it was a sad site. But as far as Trails End, we'll definitely plan another trip.
