What Guests Are Saying
Trails End Campground offers a stunning and serene location with beautiful views of the river and easy access to canoeing and hiking in the BWCA. Many campers appreciate the well-maintained sites, peaceful ambiance, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite for relaxation and exploration. However, some concerns were noted regarding the cleanliness of the outhouses and the lack of on-site assistance for purchasing necessities, along with issues related to noise from nearby campers.

This is a terrific campground with sites overlooking a lake, a river, and boat landings. Voyageurs Outfitters is just a few miles down the road and they offer all kinds of boat and canoe rentals. Beautiful place with tons to explore. A MUST is a a dip in the river linking two lakes; it's accessible past the sites 18 and 19.

Would haven given 5 stars but we got there and all of the amenities were closed including showers, which we did not see mentioned anywhere on the website. The bathrooms were only cleaned and restocked once during our 4 night stay, so bring toilet paper along! We also could not buy firewood from the campground. Overall great location and beautiful spot with a great view!

Beautiful campground with views of the lakes. We enjoyed daily canoe trips and hikes.
Only complaint was the toilet paper in the outhouse ran out during our stay and was not replaced.
Will come again!

Generators were ran constantly even when people were not even on their site. They were out fishing when we had to listen to there generator for hours.

This campsite is nice and private. Until the hikers literally cross through your site. There’s a trail for the hikers and people on excursions that leads directly through the site. We were in a tent and it didn’t have a rain tarp on and we had the screens for ventilation. We were woken up by a strange man walking through the site. Followed by 20-30 people over the next hour coming through with hiking gear and canoes. Absolutely beautiful surroundings but terrible site. Choosing another site next time!

Take a screenshot of your reservation confirmation page. Download offline maps ahead of time. Take screenshots of the weather forecast before you enter the Gunflint Trail. Drive slow on the gunflint. Wildlife, children, and domesticated pets live here.
Bears do visit your site:) The wildlife is abundant.
Research the individual campsites ahead of time if you have specific preferences about the level of privacy you want. Site 22 is very visible, very small, and 50 ft from the bathroom. Sites 15/16/17 are on a trail that is pushed back from parking, but some are not private from each other. 21 & 23 are more private and larger.
Be peaceful. People travel long distances to come here. This is a space for laughter, but be mindful of other guests, especially when traveling to the restrooms or driving. Put your pet on a leash when not directly in your site (the main road, exploring). When exploring, DON'T enter other occupied or reserved sites.
ALWAYS practice bear and rodent food protocol. That includes your gray water from dishes or brushing your teeth, putting your trash and food in your vehicle or up in a tree, and the removal of your pet waste.
Pick up before you leave, even if it was there before you were.
Check-in isn't until 2pm, but check-out is at 11am. Other campers within the campground often book other sites for the next day. They are waiting for you to leave while newcomers are waiting for them to leave.

No privacy, very small, not level, cliffside, and 50 feet from the bathroom. Stunning view.
Many people turn around here. Very busy and very loud.
