What Guests Are Saying
Trails End Campground offers a stunning and serene location with beautiful views of the river and easy access to canoeing and hiking in the BWCA. Many campers appreciate the well-maintained sites, peaceful ambiance, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite for relaxation and exploration. However, some concerns were noted regarding the cleanliness of the outhouses and the lack of on-site assistance for purchasing necessities, along with issues related to noise from nearby campers.

Beautiful location, great swimming and fishing! Staff was friendly and helpful when I inquired about the area, things to do, and renting a canoe. Unfortunately the trash dumpster was not far down the road from our site and occasionally the smell wafted our way. Also, walking by it on the way to the bathroom was unpleasant to say the least.

I love coming to Trails End. Clean campsites and quiet. My first sight someone had left a large blew stand alone tent that was placed over the picnic table that I wished wasn't there. I prefer the experience to be my own without someone leaving behind their "helpful" tent. The note left behind stated that the tent could be used or thrown away.

A beautiful campground. There was some tree damage that we had to clean up, but this wasn't unexpected. We did wish we had brought a small saw though. Wonderful canoe spot!

One of my favorite spots. No outside light or sounds other than nature, moon light and rushing water. Beautiful, peaceful

This was the maiden voyage for our family in our used pop-up. I've done several canoe trips with the guys over the years, but this was a nice way to expose the wife and kids to the BWCA. Fishing was a little tough due to competing with the mayfly hatch, but we did manage to catch a couple. The campsite was ok. Would've been great for a couple tents, but it was a little tight for the camper and the vehicle. It was difficult to tell from the pictures, but this site is basically right next to the road. There was a lot of open sites when we were there, so less noise too. Many of the 'services' mentioned on the website were not available due to a lack of staffing. We had to travel a couple miles back down the gunflint to find an outfitter that had bait and maps, or firewood. Their snack/gift shop was also closed.
Overall, it was a great experience. We saw a couple sites when we were there that we are thinking of trying out next time.

There is no place on earth like the BWCAW and the Gunflint Trail. The campsites are situated perfectly and the surroundings so beautiful....
If you love the night sky, this is the place to be.
If you love your quiet times & remote hiking, this is the place to be.
