About Trails End Campground

Trail's End Campground is located next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in a remote area of Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota. It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy life, or get out on the water to canoe and fish. Berry picking and wildlife viewing are also great fun.

Trails End Campground offers a stunning and serene location with beautiful views of the river and easy access to canoeing and hiking in the BWCA. Many campers appreciate the well-maintained sites, peaceful ambiance, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite for relaxation and exploration. However, some concerns were noted regarding the cleanliness of the outhouses and the lack of on-site assistance for purchasing necessities, along with issues related to noise from nearby campers.

Outstanding location. Camp site 1 and 2 are by far the best spots, with outstanding lake view while nested in pine trees. Each spot has even its private beach. I highly recommend the area.

Beautiful site and weather but then came the forest fire risk. Gunflint Fire came to my campsite and it was voluntary evacuation but it was 8:30 at night. Had to pack in the dark but lefti was sad to lose a night at this spot. Next dat it was officially closed and mandatory evacuation. Hope fun rain and control of the forest fires.

This location has about 60 campsites which improves your chances of getting a last minute spot. Nice location with multiple entry points to voyager in the vicinity or only a short drive away. Will come back to this location again.

I’ve been going to this campground for over 50 years. A slice of heaven on earth! Campsite #2 is super for an RV and additional tents. There used to be shade but some of the pines have died and it was sunny most of the time. A little disconcerting that there were 2 dead pines with caution tape wrapped around them saying KILLER TREE! We had some windy days and it was worrisome!

What an incredible site!! So beautiful! So sad that the air was a little smoky and what was going on in BWCA.. The water was so clear and good for swimming. It's a little deep as well. So be careful! The site was very clean.. It's a little close to the bathroom so you can smell it when the wind blows.. But the washroom was pretty clean... It was overall a great experience...
