What Guests Are Saying
Trails End Campground offers a stunning and serene location with beautiful views of the river and easy access to canoeing and hiking in the BWCA. Many campers appreciate the well-maintained sites, peaceful ambiance, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite for relaxation and exploration. However, some concerns were noted regarding the cleanliness of the outhouses and the lack of on-site assistance for purchasing necessities, along with issues related to noise from nearby campers.

We had a lovely time at the campground in spite of the very dry weather. The biffy was clean. The picnic tables were pretty worn and the wood was splitting. The campsite was level and worked well for our 20 ft trailer.
We had fun in the lakes with our kayaks, canoes and paddle boards.

We were concerned about the garbage situation when we arrived. The garbage was all over, and we actually saw a large bear behind it. I know due to the fires there have been some problems with the bears and I think they were trying to remedy the garbage situation. Otherwise, the campground and campsight that we had (23) was well maintained and beautiful.

Bathrooms/outhouses were not cleaned regularly. Other campgrounds we have used are much better maintained. They even had hand sanitizer. We realize that the campground is getting heavy use but the floors never looked like they had been cleaned. We stayed 3 nights.

Very clean, quiet campground that gives you the full boundary water vibes. It’s an annual trip I take! Always look forward to it!

Beautiful, bucolic campground: large, well isolated sites, most with lake access; grounds are well groomed and cleaned daily. "Trails End Cafe" needs some serious TLC, but other than that, this place is one of the best campgrounds we've ever visited!

It was awesome having our campsites right on the water so it made launching our kayaks super easy. The water station, bathrooms and garbage were just a short walk away. Having our own parking area for the two campsites was also really convenient.

We had a beautiful, beautiful campsite. We would stay in the site again. There was supposed to be a Trading Post that offered firewood, showers, grocery items, etc.... There was nobody around for the 3 days that we were there. This was during the week and during the hours that were posted. We were unable to get any firewood so we were not able to have a campfire during our time there.
We were told by another camper that they were struggling because of Covid. That is unacceptable in a remote wilderness location.
Also, there was a large trash dumpster, near our site, that was overfull and clearly had not been emptied for a week or more. The trash was so gross and stinking. It stunk up the whole area. We had this gross nasty stench all the way to our campsite. Disgusting! This dumpster was also attracting wild animals.

The first couple of nights the mosquitoes were a little rough but we did ok with our bug protection. The views were great. The small rapids was lovely. We canoed around gull lake. The walk from the boat landing to Sea Gull lake has great overlooks.
