About Trails End Campground

Trail's End Campground is located next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in a remote area of Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota. It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy life, or get out on the water to canoe and fish. Berry picking and wildlife viewing are also great fun.

Trails End Campground offers a stunning and serene location with beautiful views of the river and easy access to canoeing and hiking in the BWCA. Many campers appreciate the well-maintained sites, peaceful ambiance, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite for relaxation and exploration. Nice campground beautiful view.
Only complaint is the fire pit had two grates and was so deep we could barely see the flames. Also it is placed on where the hill starts so you are unable to sit on one side.

We live love our late summer camping trip to Trails End. We go driving to look for moose and visit Chik-Wauk museum and nature center.
At the museum they have activities for both adults and children.

Good service from the helpful staff. Will recommend this campground and Way of the Wilderness Outfitters to others looking to have a great time in the BWCA.

We had a spectacular view of the Boundary Waters and Canada from our campsite (8). However, our experience was tempered by noisy young kids on either side of us on the first night.

We absolutely LOVE Trails End. So peaceful and beautiful!! Site #8 has the most amazing view and my son loves to jump of the lower cliff into the water. I love sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet in the mornings with the foggy mist over the water, it's amazing! In the past I've never had any cell service with Verizon. This year I had an AT&T phone and did have 1 bar of service and was able to send text messages. Site #* is very rocky and near impossible to put stakes in the ground for a tent but the the view definitely makes up for it! Bugs can be bad at prime mosquito season but you have to expect that in Minnesota. There is a vault toilet just up the road from site #8 and it is always clean. There was one day it ran out of toilet paper but I had brought some so that was a non issue for us. There is also a water spigot at site #8 which is fantastic to have close by. If you are looking to hang a hammock there are not too many options with trees on site #8 as it is fairly open but there is just enough shade to keep us happy.

The best camping experience I’ve ever had. Great campground with the best views. We were at site #16 and have zero complaints. We wish would have stayed longer!. Highly recommend for anyone looking to camp in the north woods.
