This campground is nice. But it’s not monitored at all, people come in with pickup full of trash and put it in the dumpster. We didn’t feel completely safe so we left a day early.

When we first arrived at the Pokegama Dam and circled the campground out space was still occupied. So we drove out and I went into the office where I met with several helpful females in the office! They were very helpful and actually mention we could stay a day longer than I had originally scheduled.
Nice park! Large spaces! Dump site!

Not a great place to tent camp. I had a "walk in" site. I think there are only 2 of these here. I saw that it was near a highway in advance so I did not expect a super peaceful secluded tent camping experience. I did not realize that these 2 sites are just yards from an active railroad! I can sleep through highway noise, but no one would be able to sleep through that train! Thankfully it only went by about 10:30 pm and 1:30 am . RV camping is probably fine and I think less close to the tracks. The campground itself seemed well maintained, the bathroom was always super clean, and there are some nice little hiking trails on the other side of the dam. It would be cool if they could get a few walk in sites over on that side.
