What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

Excellently maintained campsite. Tent pad was level and bear pole was convenient. The hike in was easy and the campsite was peaceful.

Reef Island is our favorite campsite on Sand Point, even with the long walk to the boats (it gets us steps after sitting in the boat all day)! The boat tie off area is all sand and in a cove that rarely gets wind. There is a rocky area near the camp site for the initial drop off of camp gear, but wouldn't want to tie off boat there all the time. We love the new tent pads.

Campsites are all great, with good views of the lake, fire pits, tent pads, etc. My particular site had a protected bay for the boat and a sandy beach upon which to land the boat.

I'm old................ and a little out of shape... We booked campsite in Browns Bay - #3. The pictures don't show the climb from the dock to the campsite. It's about 30 feet above the dock so lots of steps going up. I think you could add this to the campsite description - someone could book this site and not be able to make the trip up the hill... Would be good to add a little warning - maybe say, " This campsite is 30 feet above the water, so there is a climb to get your tent and camping gear to the top of the hill. The view is fantastic when you get there!"

Second time at this campsite. It’s so peaceful, always clean, and the bugs have never been bad.

The lack of boating etiquette ESPECIALLY in the corridor past our campsite that leads to Canada was the worse the three of us have ever endured in our life. Granted we were in a canoe, but even if we weren't the amount of people passing to closely, at speeds that were ridiculously let alone with the wake that followed was absurd. I understand it's a small corridor but the rational IQ of 95% of the boaters seemed quite limited. The first boat to slow down on our way out only did so due to the fact we were passing through the final bottle neck at the end of the corridor and had they not we'd surely capsize. Otherwise the campsite was good, the running water/ well/ pump thing wasn't working however, we didn't plan for that anyway. Caught all four fish further west of our site essentially in front of the camp around the bend. Bard owls were curious of our site the second night which was cool. Thoroughly enjoyed the fact that no other campsites were booked, and we had thought if we had a very large party those sites all next to each other would be a great spot to post up.

The trail to get to the "primitive" campsites is not even really a trail. It's a poorly marked vague idea of a trail and even early in the season (I went in late May) was overgrown and in some places blocked with downed trees -- and hard to tell where the trail was. After sinking knee deep in mud I gave up and wasn't able to use my 2 nights of reserved campgrounds.
