What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

Love the beauty of Voyaguers National Park! One storm in the middle of the week, but had no problems.

Hike back to Locator Lake was a bit more strenuous than expected but within 1 hour we were at the canoes. The lake is beautiful and with nobody else back there, it was peaceful. Plus the bass and pike were biting all day. The campsite on War Club is great with easy lake access, flat tent sites and a nice fire pit with benches. Mosquitos were not bad and the single thermacell unit we had kept the bugs away.

This was a great campsite. Our only issue was there was an un-permitted party at our site when we arrived at the check-in time. They agreed to leave after stating there was no sign saying they couldn't be there (there is but it is very small on the bear cabinet). I left my oldest daughter with the supplies and went to pick up firewood from a resort. The party that was squatting had a second boat that returned after I left and starting shouting the F-word repeatedly about having to leave in front of his kids and my daughter. Once we got rid of these people the site was very good. The tent pads are smaller than advertised. Great fishing, and sunsets. Great cell phone signal with Verizon.

Great site with large dock for your boat. Deep at end of dock and we were diving off with no issues. Tent pads are great and level surfaces everywhere to put things. Huge bear lockers also work well for additional tables. Gravel was spread nicely although it was very dry for our 3 night visit. A couple good spots for hammocks with great views south/southwest. Enclosed latrine was a nice touch to help mitigate bugs. We usually camp at Boundary Waters and this site seemed “luxurious” in comparison. Bugs got really bad at dusk and pretty much forced us into tents by 10:00 PM as even our campers who don’t usually get harassed were getting bit. Fishing from the campsite was not successful but found some in a nearby bay. This is pretty far tucked back into Saginaw Bay and not much traffic. We explored all the way to Kettle Falls one day and liked the central location between the 2 ends of the park on Rainy. We enjoyed it and was our first time to Voyageurs.

I camped two nights at Kempton East Entrance in Voyageurs and, wow, it was the most beautiful campsite I’ve ever had (and I’ve been to 49 national parks). Just stunning.

We enjoyed the site. No major issues. The one item that I would fix is the reservation system. It's complicated and always has been. Every year the site changes slightly, and I say to myself, ' not like last year but I can figure it out - I wonder what the first timer is thinking?'
It needs to be step by step instead of having to scan the page to hunt and peck your way through the process.
