What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

Nice campsite but a bit small. Good sand beach and great for beaching boats.

when we arrived back at our camp from a day of fishing..people claimed they were hiking around our campsite-we stopped them when we got back they were pulling out of our site- I thought no big deal..no worries.. when later we noticed the tent was open and the place had been ransacked!! It is open season to steal belongings at peoples campsites when they are out on the water for the day!! UHG- So there must be locals that boat into the area and steal peoples stuff! NOT GOOD! lucky we didnt have anything to steal just our food and camp gear.. we took our wallets and personal items with us on the boat....NOT GOOD!

Sites are great with the platforms that have been set up. The solitude of each campsite is great because you are really alone in some of the sites. Canoing was great and the water was super calm in the morning but in the afternoon the winds can kick up.

I’ve been coming to voyageurs national park for over 25 years. It’s an amazing place to unwind and relax, take the family out for a fun time. Typically don’t write reviews but this experience was tainted by inappropriate guests. First time staying on Pat Smith island. A nice little site in the middle of Namakan lake. I thought it would be private, however, countless fishing boats sitting no more than 50 yards from the campfire ring at the site is unacceptable. Other patrons should have more respect and courtesy for one another. While staying here, this campsite is my place of abode. It is highly disrespectful to park your boat just off shore and stare at me and my family for the day. I know there’s nothing to be done but hopefully some guidelines about not disturbing campers can be followed. Thank you for listening.

I camped at Nuthatch in Lost Bay, a wonderful site on Lost Bay, with 2 tent pads. This is a great mid-lake location for us fisherman as we can travel east or west or north to to Canadian side without a long run. Excellent dock in the protection of the bay, with nice early morning and evening views. The site also has lots of tree cover and good shade. It’s a beautiful place.

My wife and stayed at Peterson's Point for 3 nights, the site has been very nicely upgraded. The grading and wooden edging from the boat dock to the site facilitated unloading and loading gear from the boat. The site is very nicely suited from the boat launch with access to the big lake of Kabetogama as well as the smaller lakes of Namakan and the Ash River. The Ellsworth Rock Gardens are a great place to have lunch and break up a windy day. Really appreciated the wider mowed path to the dunny from the tent pads.

Even though I am from Duluth, MN this was the first time I experienced Voyager's National Park. I have always previously gone to either the BWCA or Quetico Provincial Park but as I am getting older (73) portages with camping equipment just aren't my thing anymore. This was an easy trip from Crane Lake being just 45 minutes by boat. We had trouble finding the Smallmouths but had great success with the Walleyes and Northerns which was exciting for two of my Grandson's on their first camping trip (June 20-23, 2023. Both caught their first Walleyes one of which was 27 inches and one grandson caught but lost right at the boat a 30 inch Northern. Rusty Island is a great campsite and the only drawback was it faced north so a lot of Horse and Deer flies during the daylight hours as well as mosquitoes in the evening. For me there was a lot of boat traffic which we never see in Quetico but it was quiet enough.

Very easy process and clear directions after doing a little background research before the release date. I loved being able to have a site reserved ahead of time for peace of mind. Amazing time for our family of 5!
