What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

Great site, picnic area was recently mowed by the park staff, 2 designated camping sand pads; could potentially add a 3rd smaller tent in the pines towards the rocky point. Smallies, walleyes and pike can be caught right off the rocky point. Nice sandy landing for your boat and swimming. 2 bear boxes to store food and garbage. All in all a great site and location for fishing.

Lost Lake was a phenomenal site! Easy to access and paddle from Ash River VC. Site had a gorgeous view and we saw lots of wildlife.

We had fantastic weather and caught fish every day. I've done many many wilderness trips and those two attributes rarely come together for 7 days. Thanks.

The water at lake mukooda was off most of the week. No one told us prior to getting there. It was turned on and we talked to the rangers but they failed to tell us. Comunication by the park sucked. Next year no moters on the lake is wrong. I have gone to this lake since the 80s and if no moters will never be back
That is very upsetting and sad to me and the group I go with

Rock Island Garden was nice to see but it has not been kept up for awhile and no longer looks like the photos.

The area is great! Directions were clear. Only have 2 issues. Those canoes are NOT portagable by 1 person. They're WAY to heavy. I would have liked to have known that as a single person reserving a campsite that has a 0.5mi portage. In short, I was unable to portage. Also, I could not find the portage trail between War Club Lake to Quill Lake. Some sort of sign marking it would be exceedingly helpful. Also, the brush by where I thought the portage was is tick infested. Got 10 ticks on me just walking around trying to find the trail. Found 8 of them before they bit, but 2 got a hold of me. Plucked them off and hopefully that's fine.
I definitely bit off more than I could chew selecting a campsite requiring a 0.5mi portage by myself, that's my bad. But a warning somewhere during the reservation that the canoes are too wide and heavy to portage by yourself would be helpful. Then a single hiker would reserve Locator Lake or War Club Lake instead. Thanks!

Excellent experience! We used a canoe and stayed on the main paddle route. Fox, Pat smith and Namakan Islands is where we stayed. Thankfully we had a mosquito net for inside our tent. We used long light pants and long sleeved light shirts, sunglasses, boonie hats socks and sturdy shoes to wards off sun and insects. Life straws and a lifestraw in a 20 oz bottle worked well drinking from Namakan Lake. Backup everything. We went there for 7 nights and took about 120lbs of gear for 2 people. Good times!!
