What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

Really fun couple of nights! Quiet time at camp, bugs not too bad in the breeze, and easy access to the Elisworth Rock Garden, which was a short paddleboard from camp.

Locator Lake campsite was great. Favorite part was the peacefulness on the water and campsite.

We stayed at the Sunrise Point camp for 5 nights over Memorial Day 2023. The accesssible site was great for our special needs son and his grandparents mobility wise. Site in excellent condition the park staff really does an excellent job.

It would have been nice to know that the docks weren’t up. It made accessing our site very challenging. Otherwise, clean and well kept.

I don't understand why there needs to be 3 hours between front-country site check-out and check-in. It not like park staff are coming to clean. The back-country sites only have 1 hour between check-in/check-out.

I know that the ice was late this year…. But, year after year if you come up in the spring the docks aren’t in. That should be a priority. Or at least part of the fee should be refunded.

It was an excellent site on a private island with access to water. But it was so hard to find. The ranger at the visitor center wasn't that helpful either. We ended up getting lost somewhere in the Canadian waters and luckily we met some lovely locals to point us in the right direction. It was very windy when we went as well, so can't do any water activities. Just ended up hanging out on the island, which was still good and enjoyable. Overall, a great experience. Will definitely try to come back.

The campsites within each island are spread out enough to where you feel as though you have the whole island to yourself. The tent pads were packed down well, we had dual bear boxes, the fire pit and grill top actually had enough wood and starter for the first night, and while I'm not sure if it was left by the park attendants or by the previous person, our commode had a roll of toilet paper wrapped in a bag to keep dry for us. Keep in mind it is JUST a toilet, not a full outhouse. The port for watercraft was well secluded without being hard to find. The sign for the camp site is easily seen from the rocks so as long as you know how to read your map to get started in the right direction you'll find it.
