What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

Awesome big new dock. Swimming access off rock ledge next to dock ok and drops off fast. Tent sites mounded for water run off but make for a little uneven for sleeping. Nice bear boxes and picnic table. The site is mostly rocky/ hilly, not much level ground anywhere. The fire pit is perched on angled bedrock that was difficult to sit by in a chair without tipping over. Not much boat traffic passing close by, quiet and relaxing spot. Mosquitoes got bad at dusk. Very close to Kettle Falls and worth at trip to see the dam area. The hotel was run down and a bit depressing, we thought maybe we’d go there for dinner but it appeared they’re short staffed. The bar is interesting with an old, heaved floor. A tour boat goes to Kettle Falls daily.

We love Voyageurs and have actually enjoyed the permit system knowing we will have a site. It may come up in the next step but twice we have seen a houseboat on Rusty Island with no campers or tents. So it may be possible people are reserving as a campsite and bringing a houseboat to park. I do have a picture of the second time that occurred on August 21. We love Rusty and know it is popular but this plan takes away a campers night.
We love the work put into the docking spaces provided on Steakhouse and Depth Finder.

Saw way too many unoccupied campsites, and it was difficult to book a site, this happens every visit. A fine or penalty should be placed. Its rude to other Americans that want to experience the park.

I have paddled Voyageurs National Park for just over 20 years and it is highly recommended!
MUST sees! There are so many. I would say, Kettles Falls, Sullivan Bay Overlook, the Cruiser Lake Trail System and Ellesworth Gardens. Another must is to check out the Woodenfrog Campground on Kabetogema. Plan ahead, Be prepared for anything and you'll have a wonderful experience. And above all LEAVE no trace and RESPECT the park!!
