What Guests Are Saying
Sandy Lake is a well-maintained campground with clean facilities, friendly staff, and a variety of activities, making it a favorite for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The large, quiet sites and beautiful surroundings enhance the camping experience, while the convenient access to boating and swimming is a significant plus. Some visitors noted issues with campsite proximity and minor facility improvements, but the overall atmosphere is inviting and enjoyable.

Beautiful campground. Ranger was helpful. I was in the North campground which needs shower and dump station improvements.

Rangers are very friendly and helpful. Shower house on South entrance is nice, clean and a bonus is laundry facilities. Many people were out enjoying the beach since it was 90+ degrees out. Sites on North entrance are large and level with lots of green space between them. It would be nice if a shower house could be added to the North entrance. The shower house is available for both and north sides but the people camping on the north entrance needs to drive all the way around since the bridge is only open to foot trafffic.

Great location. The park was clean and perfectly accessible. Boat launch was easy and there were plenty of docks to park our boat. We will be back.

Nice park but very rough around the edges. Site had a grade not specified. So many vehicles at a spot that I could hardly back into my spot. No signs to find my loop. Beautiful area but very unkept

Site number six in the south lot says it will take up to a 30 ft Camper. Must be very good at backing in to get a 28’ foot RV into that site. If you have an RV longer than 28 ft, stick to sites 1, 2, or 3 in the south lot. Northern half of campground has a lot more room per site.

Staff is always friendly from the Rangers right to the Volunteers. The grounds are clean and a very enjoyable campground.

This was meant to simply be a place to sleep for the night.
I was so pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfulness of the staff, the impeccably manicured grounds, and the peaceful setting that I will definitely stop on my way back across the country.
Thanks to all who make this park a hidden gem for travelers!
