Crescent Lake might be my favorite campground I've ever stayed at. My site had shore access which was great for kayaking and swimming. The camp host was friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the entire campground was impressive. The remoteness and the sounds of the wildlife were wonderfully peaceful. This place is a hidden gem!

The rustic sites are small and best for tents and small campers. Rocky, picturesque shorelines of Crescent Lake, typical of the Boundary Waters area, do make it difficult to store your canoe near your campsite but the boat landing with pier is excellent. Many of the sites have steps up to, or down to, the picnic table and fire ring. Peaceful, quiet, no cell phones bothering you. The host in 2023, Jack, was super friendly and kept the place up very well. Outhouses were clean and always stocked with TP and the campsites had no litter, not even little bits! If you forgot any supplies, Sawbill Canoe Outfitters was 25 minutes at the end of the Sawbill Trail.

Nice place to camp. If using a tent, you may want to bring a rake to smooth out some of the erosion issues happening.

We have come back to this campground for several years. The last two years we have reserved 3 sites for 3 generations of campers in our family in what has become an annual event. The campsites are all heavily wooded with great privacy and many of them have great lake views. We bring 2 kayaks up and rent a canoe at Sawtooth outfitters in Tofte so that people can get on the lake. It is a beautiful lake.

This is a wonderful campground! The lake, the campsites, its remote location are all great attributes. I've been their twice this year and intend to return next year.

This was our third year visiting Crescent Lake. The remoteness and quiet are what makes us return. Before our visit to CL we were up the Gunflint trail at Flour Lake another beautiful location. But what sets CL from FL is the campground host, Jack and his partner Reggie, they are very involved in the day to day operation of the CG. The bathrooms are clean and no smell! Well done!
