Sawbill Lake Campground - Superior National Forest

The sites are nice and the amenities available at the store are a treat. Cold beer, hot showers and great service. We've been putting in to the BWCA at this entry for over a decade and keep coming back because it can not be beat for convenience. New this last time, I had some car trouble hit me on the way in. While I was in the BWCA, the team at Sawbill Canoe Outfitters added some supplies to their town run for me and then charged me at cost when I came out a week later. They even lent us some tools to do our repairs. They saved the day for us and we were able to make it home.

Great layout for sites--enough room, and good foliage between sites in most places. Loos were kept clean and stocked with TP. Staff were nice. Biggest need is to fill the holes in the roads! though they do slow down cars driving through... Popular campground and is a great launching point for canoers.

Campsites were nicely spaced with a trail between each to get to facilities. Could have had better signage but not a deal breaker.

Wonderful campground! The way the camp sites were arranged gave you the feeling of remoteness. Loved the lake, and the people at the camp store were friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back.

The campground is well organized and maintained. Campsites are well marked and accessible. One of the bathrooms was full of an ammonia smell that was intolerable and should be addressed. Otherwise, everything was fine and our stay was pleasant.

We love Sawbill lake campground, it is clean and well maintained.

Just a beautiful campground with a great lodge. It was a night before the BWCA adventure. Returned to use the amazing shower rooms. Highly recommend. Large sites in the woods.
