5

Beautiful campground to stop at on our bike tour. The outfitter was a welcome opportunity to resupply and we greatly appreciated the abundance of vegan options for camp meals. The showers made all the difference in feeling fresh and ready to take on the rest of our trip after several days in the backwoods.

Permit was canceled for the boundary waters because of the fire. It looks like I still had to pay for the camping at Sawbill Lake even though we didn’t show up for it. That is a poor experience.

Campground is in excellent condition, pit toilets were clean and well-stocked, nearby outfitter’s store has everything we could possibly need (or want!). Swam, paddled, and fished to our hearts’ content.
