What Guests Are Saying
South Abutment Campground is praised for its clean, well-maintained sites, peaceful atmosphere, and quiet surroundings, making it an ideal getaway for relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, paved sites with full hookups, and the area's natural beauty, despite some concerns about low water levels in the lake. However, issues such as occasional power outages, outdated bathroom facilities, and a lack of staff presence have been noted.

Took ownership of our new RV in Southaven and then spent the next two nights at South Abutment Rec Area. Campsite #20 provided a great view of the lake! Stayed during the week and appreciated very peaceful surroundings. In addition, the wafting pine tree scent was lovely. This is a well maintained camping venue.

Since Mr Pierce retired and his replacement took over ,things are run with extream predjust. The care taker of the park shows extream vavotism and will not do his job. Since the covid scare he has not shown up for work and will not return calls to us that live hear year round. He only helps and looks out for his friends that live around the park. He has violated several disability laws and I will be talking to other campers about this law suit

Outstanding camping experience with the leaves turning on the trees. The only downside was that I had to reserve a site from the front entrance due to Covid. At least I was able to see the map posted next to the Ranger station -- and I didn't get too upset having to listen to the loudspeaker saying "You are trespassing" about 50 times.

We always stay at lot 74 we have the best views and we are at the dead end so the kids can play without being in danger. We have always camped at Hernando Point but since it’s been shut down we have come across the lake to our new spot. We ALWAYS have a TERRIFIC time. 😊 THANKS
