What Guests Are Saying
South Abutment Campground is praised for its clean, well-maintained sites, peaceful atmosphere, and quiet surroundings, making it an ideal getaway for relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, paved sites with full hookups, and the area's natural beauty, despite some concerns about low water levels in the lake. However, issues such as occasional power outages, outdated bathroom facilities, and a lack of staff presence have been noted.

very loud group during the week, played music until 3 in the morning. Rec.gov did not have a good address for the camp site. Never seen anyone to check in with or out with, no gate just come and goes you please even if you do not have reservations

Very pretty spot. Nice view of the lake. My mom tragically passed away while camping there and I was visiting in remembrance of her. She loved it there.

Great campground, wish we had been there when the Lake had water in it.
Nice spacing between sites with two (2) fire pits for cooking plus a fire pit.
With full hook-ups for the price it was great.

The camp grounds were spectacular in all. But the attraction or visitors were very careless. People driven their vehicles over the speed limit and had near misses with my child. I hope there will be more signs and park rangers near in the future.
