What Guests Are Saying
South Abutment Campground is praised for its clean, well-maintained sites, peaceful atmosphere, and quiet surroundings, making it an ideal getaway for relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, paved sites with full hookups, and the area's natural beauty, despite some concerns about low water levels in the lake. However, issues such as occasional power outages, outdated bathroom facilities, and a lack of staff presence have been noted.

Great campsite and we loved the view! The only negative is that it doesn’t have sewer hookup. Everything else is great!

This campground is a truly lovely escape. We went July 3rd thru 5th and although the campground was quite booked, it never felt crowded and never loud. The rangers were visible often and very helpful. My only reason for not giving a better rating was the shower housees. I have low expectations of campground bathrooms to start with but I have an adult disabled daughter in a wheelchair. These bathrooms and showerhouses are only technically handicap accessible in that bars have been installed and the toilet is higher. However, no wheelchair can get into any stall, let alone close enough for safe transfer. The showers have a 4 inch step into a drainage trench which is fine if you can stand. Again, you can't even get the chair into the shower. let alone how is a disabled person who normally cannot stand/walk supposed to step down into a trench? I was expecting a corp of engineers bathroom to have had more engineering thought applied to the ADA standards placed in the bathhouses.

This was our very first camping weekend with our new (to us) camper. We are so glad we chose South Abutment for our maiden voyage. It was a wonderful weekend. Very quiet campground. Bathrooms could use an upgrade and grass could've been cut, but it was still great! We will definitely be back!
