What Guests Are Saying
Whitten Park is a well-kept, beautiful campground located along the Tennessee-Tombigbee River, offering clean facilities and friendly hosts. Visitors appreciate the spacious, level sites, scenic views, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great getaway. Some amenities, like the bathrooms and trails, could use updates, but overall, guests enjoy their stays and express a desire to return.

We love this park! We take the grandkids and they can ride and enjoy with a good bit of freedom. The park workers are all super great .

This place is in bad need of repairs. A lot of the boards needs replaced where the boats are tied off at. The trails are slippery from moss that’s growing on the asphalt. The two sites I stayed in the last few weeks hasn’t been cleaned and the dirt under the edges of the Edges of concrete parking place for campers is being eat away and needs repaired. All the lights that where installed on the trails needs replaced or completely removed. The last site I stayed at which was 52 had trash in fire pit. Even though the camper should clean up before they leave the site should be inspected and ready for the next one.

I spent 1 night at this COE camground and arrived as a walkup. As a veteran user of rec.gov I had looked ahead on my travels at your website and was confident walkups would be available. Upon arriving a the park I was informed all sites must be reserved thru rec.gov so after determining an appropriate site I went online to find that site marked FF for that date and therefore unreservable online. Why when all sites had to be reserved would any site be marked FF??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I'm a retired Telcom Engineer and there is no reason for that, especially this late in the camping season when software issues like that should have been identified and corrected by now. Since I couldn't reserve online I had to contact your call center, on a Sunday, and it took 1 1/2 hours on my prepaid cellphone to get through to an Agent. Additionally the Corp of Engineer policy seems poorly thought out when you have your check-in station staff present and interfacing with the public yet they don't let them process any check-ins but they process changes so where is the logic in their procedures.
Overall a very poor experience and one you folks should have never allowed to happen..............shame on your service.

Site 42, easy pull through site, a bit more distance from other sites being off the loop.

Very nice campground. Camp host was able to accommodate swapping my site due to parking issues.
