We stayed in site 20 and it was the most amazing place we have ever camped in the state of Missouri. SO beautiful! We were right on the lake and it gets so dark at night you can see so many stars. Some folks even pulled their boat ashore right below their campsite. One recommendation is the guy next to us had a heavy canvas tarp he put down on the beach first to protect his boat. The beach is pretty rocky. The bathrooms are easy to reach from anywhere. I also recommend driving to Arcola and eating at Ken’s. DELICIOUS! And super close and they do takeout as well.
We were here during Covid and felt very safe.

Arrival & departure
- Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is also 4:00 PM.

Cancellation policy
- Ruark Bluff West is for overnight stays only; day use is prohibited. Reservations may be canceled if no valid camping unit is present.
- Reservations cannot be made via phone call to the park.
Utilities
- Drinking water and electric hookups are available from April 16 to September 29.
Site capacity
- Each campsite allows one RV and either two tents or three tents.
Safety & rules
- Park rangers and County Sheriffs Deputies patrol the campground regularly.
Fires & fuel
- To protect forests, do not move firewood; buy it locally and burn it on-site.
