I simply enjoy camping. Damsite is one of my favorite spots. I wish it was open until the end of October instead of the end of September. A lot of good fall camping is missed out on because the shower house closes up. I go elsewhere after September for that reason.

Park was clean and well maintained. Restrooms and showers were pretty basic but clean and well stocked. Watching the eagles fly overhead in the mornings was an added bonus. Best spots for shade is on the peninsula and inside the loop. I will definitely go back.

Beautiful area with lake on three sideβs. Camp Host very helpful and friendly. Met a lot of camper and all were very friendly. Camp ground is well maintained and shower house very clean. Have camped there for several years. Several good places to eat, and go and visit the Amish store not to far away.

We were never able to check in. The booth was always closed for all three days.
It was a quiet peaceful campground.

From Springfield, MO, take US 65 north for 60 miles to Preston, MO.. Continue on Highway 54 west to Hermitage, MO., then take Highway 254/ 64 south to Carsons Corner and follow Highway 254 west toward the dam.
The entrance to Damsite Park is on the south side of Highway 254.
