Beautiful campground. I love camping on the peninsula and being right on the lake. This is my favorite campground in Missouri.

We really enjoyed this spot! The water came nearly right to the patio and it was a great spot for fishing. The closest bathrooms were out of order for half of our stay but they did open up eventually. The other bathrooms were still open. Showers are hot with good pressure and very clean. The bathrooms were also very clean, though there is no soap so bring your own. It was quite chilly during most of our stay but we were able to stay out of shade while we were outside. For birders, there are lots of red-headed woodpeckers, tree swallows, tufted titmice, red-winged blackbirds, and nuthatches. Harter House (grocery) is not too far away and sells wood. Sunsets are beautiful at this campground! The panorama view from this spot was spectacular! Large RVs might have a little trouble fitting in this spot but we have a small camper so it was perfect for us. Other campers tend to come around the corner pretty quick so just make sure you are parked well off the main drive.

We spent 3 days in the area with our grandkids. The campground was clean and most sites are on the water. Beautiful views of the lake.

Everthing was just a little dirtier than all the other times we have stayed there.
Restrooms, campsites for example. Restrooms and showers usually knock you over with ‘cleaning chemical’ order. Not once this trip.
